Advanced Specialist / Senior Specialist - QMS

About the Role
Autoliv is seeking an experienced Advanced Specialist / Senior Specialist - (QMS) to drive and strengthen Quality Management System implementation across manufacturing operations in India. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and Autoliv quality policies while fostering a strong quality culture and continuous improvement mindset across the organization.
As the Division Management Representative (MR) for QMS, you will lead internal audits, certification activities, system improvements, and quality excellence initiatives across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System Leadership
Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System across all operating locations.
Promote a process-driven and quality-focused culture throughout the organization.
Drive continuous improvement of QMS effectiveness and robustness.
Act as the primary QMS liaison between local operations and Global/Head Office teams.
Audit & Compliance Management
Plan, conduct, and follow up on internal Quality Management System audits.
Lead and support problem-solving activities related to audit findings.
Manage certification and surveillance audits with external certification bodies.
Coordinate third-party audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, customer-specific requirements, and Autoliv standards.
Process Excellence & Quality Tools
Drive implementation of quality methodologies and tools including:
APQP
PPAP
FMEA
SPC
MSA
8D Problem Solving
Enable process standardization and operational excellence across the division.
Lead quality system improvement projects and best-practice sharing initiatives.
Management Systems & Reporting
Coordinate Management Review activities and action plans.
Develop, maintain, and update management system documentation and manuals.
Manage common quality systems and databases for audits, corrective actions, procedures, and reporting.
Prepare quality performance reports and management review inputs aligned with global reporting standards.
Training & Capability Building
Provide training and support on Quality Management Systems and standards.
Develop a strong pool of internal auditors.
Drive quality awareness and competency development across teams.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience
10 to 15 years of experience in the automotive industry.
Proven experience managing Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
Experience independently leading audits, quality initiatives, and cross-functional improvement programs.
Strong exposure to assembly, manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, or industrial operations.
Required Certifications
Lead Auditor Certification - ISO 9001:2015.
Internal Auditor Certification - IATF 16949:2016.
Preferred Certifications
Six Sigma or Shainin Certification.
VDA 6.3 Process Auditor Certification.
AIAG Core Tools certifications and extensive practical application.
